During dxpedition one can also experiment a little with antennas. Below is final location of 20m vertical for last night of operation. It is moved 8m closer to salt water, just above Pacific surface and has a good view at local church.
Due to the limited number of contacts on the 60m band, and based on the survey results so far, I decided to give the 20m band another chance. From there, I set up a 20m vertical located on the ocean shore, unfortunately among trees. There was no other way.

The night from Monday (12th Oct) to Tuesday will be the last chance to work FW1P on 40m. On Tuesday I will change the installation so that it works on 60m from now on.
I changed a bit configuration of 30m sloper moving it 18m closer to the ocean but is is now among trees… We will see how it works next night.
There are about 100 churches and chapels on Wallis Island and about 8000 residents. Very easy going…
Today I improved a little radials system for 40m and moved antenna 20m closer to the ocean. Also 20m will no longer be on the air. Instead 30m vertical is installed under 17m Moxon.
Note: Please do not ask for 160m. It was no planned and I do not have enaugh wire.
In a day or two I’ll be changing the sloper antenna from 20m to a vertical one for 30m. Be prepared….
I plan to take part in Oceania Dx Contest on coming weekend. I will be on 40m – 10m and hope to make a few real SSB amateur operators (human mode) happy 🙂
